I'm a graduate student and research assistant. I program for both school and work, so I'm reluctant to code during my off hours, even for Minecraft.

I wasn't introduced to Minecraft until summer of 2017. I got way into it and my friends got re-bored of it after about a month.

When things got stale for me, I turned to mods to spice things up. Command Block mods seem buggy, unoptimised, poorly implemented, and scattered for the most part. Forge Mods are typically too narrow or WAY too deep. Single mods become an entirely new game, and the well-implemented ones don't seem to jive well together. Forge mods have a LOT of compatibility issues.

I eventually came to Spigot plugins as the appropriate answer. I've found so many great ones that I decided to run my own server because no one had the combination of plugins that I deemed "essential."

I'm aiming to only use plugins that have no player /commands. This has proven difficult but not impossible. /commands feel cheaty and un-intuitive to me. I like my mods to integrate well with the base game.

As a programmer myself, I can sometimes be nit-picky about certain implementations, but I try to keep my requests reasonable and within the realm of possibility.
