    Death Note
Death Note is a Minecraft plugin developed for 1.16-1.17+, it introduces a custom item that allows users to input another player's name and kill them. Additionally, they can provide a time of death, along with a cause of death.

Obviously, this is inspired by the anime Death Note. I only wanted to bring it to life in Minecraft.

This plugin requires a 1.16+ server that's running on Java 16 to function.

The plugin comes with a few default Afflictions, but you can also create your own! You can hook into Death Note with your own plugin and make an addon for Death Note!
    For more information, go here.

    How to install:
    1) Download
    2) Drop into plugins folder
    3) Restart server (reload will work but is not recommended)

Reloading while the plugin is active is not recommended.

    How to use:
Once installed, you should be able to run the main Death Note command (all commands require admin perms since this item is meant to be very OP) Run the give command, and then you can use the book!

Right Click while holding - Use book
Crouch-Right Click while holding - View table of contents/registered afflictions

    It's simple to afflict a target, simply type a players name (of course, this player must be on the server). They will die of a heart attack, but there's more you can do;
If you put 'by' followed by a cause of death/affliction's trigger (each affliction has different trigger words) they will instead die of that affliction.
If you put 'in' followed by a timespan (e.g 10 minutes) the affliction will be delayed by however long you put. (Valid input: ticks, seconds, minutes and hours - e.g 1 hour)
    See the below examples:

    • Herobrine -> Herobrine will die of a heart attack.
    • Herobrine in 10 minutes -> Herobrine will die of a heart attack in 10 minutes.
    • Herobrine by fire -> Herobrine will die of fire.
    • Herobrine by fire in 10 minutes -> Herobrine will die of fire in 10 minutes.

There is only a single command. But, it has a few sub-commands, using the wonderful CommandAPI!

/deathnote - View list of commands. (/deathnote help does same)
    /deathnote reload - Reload configuration.
/deathnote give [<player>] - Give the note to yourself, or optionally another player.
/deathnote kills [<player>] - View yours or another players kills with the Death Note. (This can be disabled)
/deathnote unafflict [<player>] - Unafflict yourself or another player - this does not cancel ongoing afflictions. It is mainly for if the target doesnt die so they will be able to interact with the world again.

    Resource Pack:
The plugin has it's own resource pack, though it is not forced or automatically downloaded. If you want it, get it here.

    Screenshots & Other media:
Here are a few screenshots of the Note, plus more media to show it off.

First off, here's a video showing off one of the most complex default Afflictions, and just showing off the Note in general!
