    Thank you for 500+ downloads!

IMPORTANT: The current version of the plugin is for 1.9+ ONLY, to use the plugin on pre-1.9 servers, please use version 2.3 from instead.
Please note that version 2.3 is not the latest and therefore this page does contain some information that is not relevant to that version.

This plugin is a recreation of the Dense Ores Mod (, it is fully customisable and works seamlessly with my own little twist.

I made this plugin after creating a command block version as a submission for GM4 ( the link to that is here:

The plugin focuses on making mining more fun and rewarding by having a chance to spawn extra drops of the mined ore's drops at the location of the mined block along with some basic particles.

The chance of the extra items spawning and the amounts are customisable inside of the generated config file.

This is an image of the particle effect that occurs when the ore block is mined and extra items are spawned.

Extra items do not spawn if the player is using a Silk Touch pickaxe.
The Fortune enchantment does not currently affect the number of extra items spawned.

    Version 2.4:
    + Added '/denseores changelog' command
+ Added '/do' which is a shorter version of '/denseores'
+ Added warning message when running on a pre-1.9 server (If you want to use the plugin on older versions, use plugin version 2.3 instead)
    - Removed custom Plugin Metrics graph as it was not working
    * Updated decrepeted pre-1.9 code

    Version 2.3:
    * Made it so extra Lapis can spawn while using a stone pickaxe
    * Finally made my code not use bitwise operator '&' instead of the Java and operator '&&' (I was tired when I initially programmed that part...)
    + Added '/denseores version' command
+ Slightly improved help commands give
+ Added custom graph to Plugin Metrics (May not work)

    Version 2.2:
    + Added Plugin Metrics

    Version 2.1:
    * Fixed tab autocompletion for first argument.

    Version 2.0:

    + Launch!

Install the plugin like any other, just download the jar file and drop it in the plugins folder.

You can now start or reload your server (/rl) to load the plugin.

The plugin will generate a folder in the plugins folder called 'DenseOres' containing the config.yml file explained below.

The plugin is now setup and ready to go!
Any tweaking that can be made is explained below.

You will also see a folder called 'PluginMetrics' (Version 2.2+). If you do not want to submit data to fill a graph lower on the page just edit the 'opt-out' value in its config to true.

    Happy mining!

The config file generated in a folder in your plugins folder looks like so:
    Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 19.18.01.png
The 'Out_Of' value on line 3 dictates what the chance of spawning the extra items is out of.
The lines with just the ore name (Lines 4, 6, 8, etc...) are out of that value and dictate the chance of extra items spawning out of the 'Out_Of' value (e.g. Coal by default has a chance of 36/360 = 10%).
The lines with the ore name + _Amount are where you can modify the amount of items are spawned when they are.

All of these values are changeable in game by players using the commands below who have either OP privileges or the permission 'denseores.admin'.

The commands purely edit the config file and are only usable by the console, players with OP or players with the permission denseores.admin.

All commands have full tab autocomplete support.

You can also use /do instead of /denseores.

/denseores - Base command, displays some help
    /denseores <amount | chance | changelog | out_of | reload | values | version> - Different options, explained on their own lines
/denseores values - Displays config file settings to player or console
/denseores amount <ore> <value> - Controls the amount of extra items dropped when a mined ore spawns new items
/denseores chance <ore> <value> - Controls the chance of a mined ore dropping extra items
/denseores out_of <value> - Changes the 'Out_Of' value in config which is what the chances are out of
/denseores reload - Reloads the config file (Automatically done after running the commands that modify the file)
/denseores version - Displays the current version of the plugin

/denseores changelog - Displays the changelog

denseores.admin - Allows use of the commands that control the config file ingame.

    • Add random drop amounts
    • More drops with fortune

Wow! This is amazing! New ores, woah! But whatever you do, please don't make this paid. I would like to have this on my server, but I wouldn't like to pay for it. Thanks for the plugin!
