I assumed a plugin like Essentials is so "essential" that no one would need to actually make a review. All plugins need love and this is a #1 pick for every server!

Great essential plugin, but please - for simplicity reasons - can you allow us to edit the Broadcast message in the config? It's a real pain messing about with messages files and finding the correct colour formats for it.

Other than that all good stuff!

Works fine, only issue is with netherite items. I can't use them in kits (console says "Unknown item name: netherite_sword) and when I try to /itemdb any netherite item, I get null for the item's short names.
    1. md678685
      Author's Response
Netherite items are supported as of 2.18.0.

You may need to manually update your items.json file, especially if you edited it by hand. You can do this by deleting the "plugins/Essentials/items.json" file, then fully restarting your server.

If you need any further support, I recommend joining the MOSS server where we'll be able to provide support: https://discord.gg/casfFyh

just 4 star also i love this plugin LMAO
    1. md678685
      Author's Response
You need to set your permissions up correctly, not using wildcards. If you have the * permission, you won't be able to use /hat as you've given yourself a permission that blocks the usage of all items in /hat. You should ensure you don't have the "essentials.hat.prevent-type.<material>" permissions for each item/block type you wish to use as a hat.

the worst plugin ever, you replaced best commands in vanilla minecraft such as /give, /tp, /whisper etc. the only thing i wanted was economy.
    1. md678685
      Author's Response
EssentialsX provides enhanced alternatives to vanilla commands. However, if you prefer you can use the vanilla commands by prefixing "minecraft:" at the start of the command. You can also tell Spigot to redirect commands to vanilla using the Bukkit "commands.yml" alias system: https://bukkit.gamepedia.com/Commands.yml#aliases

If you need help with setting up commands.yml aliases, feel free to join the MOSS Discord server: https://discord.gg/casfFyh

This is likely a Spigot issue. Update to 2.18.1 for a workaround, and if this still doesn't fix it, I'd recommend joining MOSS for support: https://discord.gg/casfFyh

This is not a bug in EssentialsX. You didn't set up GeoIP properly - follow the instructions at https://essentialsx.net/wiki/GeoIP.html to set up the GeoIP module, or remove it if you don't plan on using it.

The plugin is great, does what it is meant to do. If I had any complaints, its in regards to the support channel. I was eventually helped by one of the members there, but when the first comment out of a project lead was "It's not us it must be your perms program" when it turns out that the latest version of this plugin that came out that day solved my issue, it does not put me in a good mood. Thank you to l1ttle for helping me, when one of the project leads would not.
    1. md678685
      Author's Response
Your issue was caused by not having permissions set up correctly, as evidenced by Discord logs, and was solved by editing your permissions config. EssentialsX does not manage permissions, and if you have an esoteric permissions plugin we can't provide detailed support, hence why we suggested using LuckPerms and double-checking that your permissions were set up correctly.
