What, exactly is TacoSpigot? We don't claim to support anything other then mainline Spigot builds. Probably won't work in forks.

This sounds like a configuration problem? Please review the setup instructions in our wiki on the github release site, and be certain to open an issue there if you continue to have issues or would like more focused help.

Seems to stop X-Ray, but we're having strange and annoying problems. Many strange blocks appear at random, and only turn back into their real blocks (usually) stone when touched, regardless of light level.

For example, sailing along, I saw diamond, clay, an item frame with a creeper head, and gold ore in a cliffside. The illusion was maintained until I hit the blocks.

Is this the result of a particular setting, or a bug?

      Author's Response
This is generally caused by engine mode 2, which replaces everything with random ores as defined in config (can include any valid blocks). Frame with creeper head would not be defineable as far as I am aware. Engine Mode 1, which just replaces with stone, is often less confusing.

There is a known issue regarding stone exposed along chunk boundaries. An optimistic fix in an earlier version led to bad performance so was removed. A fix may appear in future versions, if a performant approach can be found, otherwise switching to engine mode 1 should resolve the problem.

Your latest version caused huge latency when loading chunks. That's a big problem

actually i love this plugin, but it will make the server slower.
however there's no other good method to avoid x-ray.

Share your timings with us! On our server when > 100 players, we observed only about 0.05% of tick towards Orebfuscator -- this is very good :). But we would love to know your experiences, so that we can improve!

Thank you for the review, we're always glad to hear people are using and enjoying this plugin.

Fantastic, one of a kind plugin. 4.3.0 has some quirks, but it's definitely a must-have for any major server.

Doesn't work on 1.8.8. I downloaded the legacy 1.8.8, the protocollib and the plugin loads but doesn't work at all.

We state clearly up top that this has support only for 1.9 and newer. Running an older, unsupported version is at your risk.

If possible, please review based on the supported versions with active development, as reviews for versions we explicitly do not support will not help others evaluating this plugin for use. Thanks.

It works well, and hides most of the ores on the map. What I mean is, when I change the random blocks to be stone, it is clearly not hiding all the ores. It hides most though, and works for what it is supposed to do, and I am grateful for that. Just, it would be nice if it would hide every ore. I am using ProtocolSupport (latest through GitHub at this time), ProtocolLib 4.2.1, Orebfuscator 4.2.1, and Multiverse (outdated, experimental build for 1.11). Among other plugins that I know for a fact could not effect Orebfuscator in any way. Either way this functions well especially for a free plugin, and it causes little to know lag in testing.

Thanks for the review! We'd be happy to help review your config as well, and see if it's possible to address the last bits of ore.

If hiding all ore is your objective, however, I strongly recommend considering HiddenOre -- another plugin we manage -- as it generates ore as players find it, so vanilla ore gen can simply be disabled in your world. Nothing to find if it doesn't exist -- it's a great companion to Orebfuscator.

I mention this because the typical "lingering ores" are in cave walls, or behind transparent blocks (under water, etc) or above lit lava pools. Using Darkness Hider can address some of this, have you tried it?

Be sure to drop us a PM with your config, in any case, if you'd like some help or a second set of eyes.

Am I the only one that happens to him?

Very good plugin for obfuscation blocks. People who tries to use X-ray get kind of confused ;) Could be improved when it comes to chests that are visible on "ground level" etc

This is a amazing plugin thank you for keeping it up to date and it goes well with my other anti-cheat plugins that I have. Small downside is hopefully in the future there will be more often updates to keep up with the hackers nowadays.

Thanks! Please open an issue on the Lishid repository if you are aware of any new exploits. Aleksey is very aggressive at fixing issues when we become aware of them.

      Thanks for your support!

Just to confirm, you have ProtocolLib installed as well?

In preference to a one star review with no details, I'd love to engage you in support and help you get it working for you.

Given how many other people have had success (including us, the authors!) it's most likely just a configuration problem.

Let me know how I can help.
