SkyChanger is a light-weight plugin built for Spigot and Sponge. The main function of this plugin is to change the color of the sky for yourself, a specific player, a specific world, or everyone. This plugin functions by sending a packet with a specified ID to the target player(s). Screenshots of this are posted below.
Every packet number that is not 0 will cause rain to appear, and higher magnitude packet numbers increase the intensity of the rain. For an optimal experience it is recommended to use this plugin with Optifine and to turn rain and rain particles off. If this is not possible or inconvenient, rain is automatically turned off in Desert and Mesa biomes. You may want to use this plugin exclusively there.
A Developer API is provided and actively maintained. More details on this are provided on the wiki.
This plugin is compatible with Spigot versions 1.8.x, 1.9.x, 1.10.x, 1.11.x, 1.12.x, 1.13.x, 1.14.x, 1.15.x, and 1.16.x.
Changing the sky color is no longer possible in 1.17+

FAQ
Where can I find more information about this plugin?
We keep our wiki page updated to reflect the latest and most useful information about this plugin. If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask the developer.
How can I report an issue or request a feature?
You may use our issue tracker to report issues and request new features be added. If you need immediate support you may also try contacting the developer directly.
Consider also joining our Discord Server.
Which version should I use?
You should try to use the version uploaded here on the Spigot page. All versions posted here are considered releases and have undergone extensive testing.
Dev builds are also provided, however they are usually unstable and not feature complete. Only use these builds if you are interested in testing new versions or if for some reason you need the absolute latest changes.
Can I use this plugin without Optifine?
Yes, you can, although higher magnitude packet numbers will cause more rain particles to appear on your client which will lag you out eventually no matter how powerful your computer is. These affects are disabled by the client automatically in the desert an mesa biomes so you may want to ensure that a player is in one of those two before modifying their sky.
If you are able to use Optifine the setting you should turn off is Options > Video Settings > Animations > Rain Splash. You could also turn off the rain however the rain splash is the main source of lag.
Can I use SkyChanger in my language?
Yes, you can! If your language is already supported, all you need to do is select it in your config.yml. If your language is not supported, is missing a translation, or has an incorrect translation, you may submit translations using this guide.
Please consult the wiki file for information on the Developer API.

Very good plugin only issue is my world is stuck on one of the settings every time I restart the server I deleted my player data and the plugin and restarted my client but it's still stuck. I tried loading the world in single player and works so it's stuck server side PLEASE HELP. When this is fixed my rating will change.

- 5/5,
The plugin is amazing! I was using it on my lobby server, as I was decorating it for Halloween, but it isn't available for 1.17+ So in the near future, can you make it 1.17+?

Author's Response
Unfortunately the game internals in 1.17 have changed such that it is no longer possible to change the sky color. It's unfortunate, but there's not much more I can do.

- 1/5,
tried it on 1 of our servers that is fully space themed and the plugin is not at all impressive followed instructions without optifine and the plugin does not work
Before you tell me I should have contacted you through discord or something I have 4 programmers who are part of my server who looked at the setup and also had issues-
Author's Response
Hey, all you have to do is drop it in the plugins folder. Not sure why you're having difficulty doing this?

Something very unique, good looking and no need for resource pack. I first saw this plugin years ago, and I still think this is one of the most original plugins on spigot!

- 5/5,
I kept forgetting to update my 4-star to 5-star, but not because I don't think it's worth it - just been super busy!
Wonderful plugin to add a copious amount of "atmosphere" to worlds :D -

VERY unique plugin, this is something I haven't seen before, well done on making a unique plugin!
I don't know if you can, but if you can remove the yellow tint, it'd be a hell of a lot better, and it would get a lot of servers to use your plugin. -

- 5/5,
(I'm form Spain and my english is not very good, sorry)
the plugin is great, I have a small complaint but it does not matter, when you put a number about 3-4 it starts to give lag for the rain particles, I realized that if I placed invisible blocks on top of the hub it would not hurt much the lag, very good plugin. I no longer need to use texture packs, my users are delighted-

Thanks :)
The rain is not something that can be fixed. Check the wiki for more information on this.
