The Stalker is a Character/Passive and Hostile Mob developed using skRayFall, skQuery, Skript and Citizens. The purpose of this skript is to be an introduction to programming A.I within Skript using skRayFall. Everything here is meant to be played with, modified and adjusted.
About The Stalker:
The stalker will spawn behind players randomly and taunt the player using chat messages and noises. If the player decides to make direct eye contact with the stalker it will become hostile and charges the player. There are two ways this mob can be defeated, by ignoring it or by being able to defeat it upon its charged attacks. The best strategy for newer players will be to ignore the Stalker and let it pass, but well established players may wish to take a risk and fight the Stalker head on. The stalker is highly configurable using the current options. Anything you don’t like about the character mechanically can be adjusted/recoded using the Skript language. Any questions/comments can be left in the spigot discussion page or the Skript forums.
Please make sure you have the most up to date version of all these plugins:
Installed the plugins in the plugins folder and start the server once to generate all the files. Make sure that all the plugins have started up properly. Then download the script above and place it into the “\plugins\Skript\scripts” folder. Then from either in game or your servers console file type “/sk reload thestalker” to load the script. If any errors appear while loading the script please make sure you have the most up to date version of everything and that all dependencies have started up properly before requesting support.
- Skript (Latest build can be found here)
- skQuery (If your server version is above 1.8.3, please use this version)
- Citizens (Make sure to get the latest dev build)
If you have other scripts that heavily control damage, kills and deaths you might experience some issues with the stalker not behaving properly. Basic modification to this skript should fix these issues as they arise.
This script allows for easy customisation of almost every element of the character. Using a program like sublime text or notepad++ open the .sk file you have downloaded and read the file from top to bottom, I have included documentation and an explanation for every options, so modifying the file should be easy. If you run into any issues please leave a message either on the skript forums, in a private message or on the discussion page. I will not be providing support through reviews.
- Grants access to the admin commands to force spawn the stalker
- Will allow the stalker to be spawned to the player using the timed spawn method.
- /spawnstalker [player] - requires permission "stalker.admin"
- Allows you to force spawn the stalker for either an online player or for yourself when the first argument is left blank
Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully play with this resource a bit. It is meant to be more of a template and example rather than a full on drag and drop resource so please keep that in mind with its use. If you have any issues please leave a message in the discussion or on the skript forums, I’ll do my best to help you out.
Enjoy and happy skripting!
