VariableTime lets you control the length of both day and night in any world. This allows you to make days and nights slower(< 1.0) or longer (> 1.0). Configuring this is easy, and only involves a few simple commands.\\
*/vt day <multiplier>: Sets the world's day setting\\
*/vt night <multiplier>: Sets the world's night setting\\
*/vt info: Returns info about world time settings
*variabletime.set: Allows for changing different time variables\\
*variabletime.info: Allows for getting the world time settings\\
*variabletime.*: All permissions
Each world automatically creates its own section in the config. It will have one value for day and one value for night for each world.

A plugin that allows you to customize the length of days and nights
After some fumbling I figured out exactly what the author meant with slower/longer and stuff.
This plugin basically changes the speed of the passing of time during the day and night, not the length of the day/night directly.
So if you configure it for 0.5 for the day, the time will pass at half speed, thus doubling the length of the day, the same for the night, if you want shorter nights, increase the multiplier.
After figuring that out from the ambiguous wording, I got it to work and really enjoy it, the only thing either missing or not documented (or properly documented) is how to stop the plugin.
Sometimes I want it to not do it's thing, without having to restart the server, specially when I want to disable the day/night cycle.
If you slow down the passage of time for the day and disable the day/night cycle using a gamerule, time runs backwards during the day.
The only thing preventing me from giving it a 5 star is this, supposedly simple, issue.
