- Tested Minecraft Versions:
VPNGuard will prevent players from joining your server behind any type of anonymizer (whether it be a VPN or a Proxy). This will effectively help reduce spammers/bots and Miscellaneous individuals from joining your server by kicking them if they have an IP address which belongs to a hosting organization.
VPNGuard uses a privately managed blocking list which is updated almost daily to Combat new threats.
I also coded a lightweight BungeeCord Version: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/vpnguardbungee.31915/

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How many players can the plugin look information up for?
A. At the time of writing this the backend API provider has a 500 monthly request limit. Which means if you enable api-cache within config.yml you can get 500 monthly unique players and lookup information regarding them with no problem! Just to clarify once more, the plugin is free, however the API Backend this plugin uses is not. I do not manage the API service, so please don't penalize the plugin for you not being able to use it for free.
Q. What happens when the API monthly limit is reached?
A. The API server will no longer provide information regarding additional/new users who attempt to join your server, from there those users would be either allowed to join your server without any sort of checking or they would be kicked, this is based on the value specified in the config.yml under bypass-check.
Q. I have a server and more than 500 new users join per month is it possible I can get more monthly requests?
A. Yes you can you would need to purchase an API key, at the time of writing this its only $5/mo
Q. Where can I view details/purchase the API that is being used?
A. You can visit the homepage by the API provider located at: https://vpnblocker.net

Prevents users from joining your Bukkit/Spigot server behind any type of anonymizer
Great plugin, I would love it even more if you could update it to 1.14.4! :)
It does exactly what it says it does, there are a few VPNs that it doesn't detect, but almost all of them are blocked. I love it! As I said, it would be great if it wasn't 1.7-1.12, and instead, it was 1.7-1.14, but it's an awesome plugin other than that!
VPNGuard is an excellent plugin, still working and functional. Its configuration options allow for smooth customization without being bloated with unnecessary features.
Some other reviews complained about the API provider; however, that's not in any way the responsibility of VPNGuard or bash, the author of the plugin. If you are running out of requests on the free package, turn up your api-cache-time in the config.yml OR just get an API key for $5/mo for unlimited requests.
BUYERS BEWARE! The plugin itself is handy and does a good job when it works correctly with the $5 option. If you have a decent size server, i wouldn't suggest this plugin. Once you go over the check limit it will shut down your server. Highly annoying and wrong, give me an error in console or chat or something don't shut down the server...
For some months now the paid version doesn't work. Either the guy or girl died or doesn't care to fix it. My code doesn't auto update, saying it expired even though i bought the $5 package again. Did it twice and failed to update. I emailed the person whoever runs it, but no reply or fix.
Was a 4.5/5 star plugin but it's not that anymore. Don't waste your money!
A well made plugin! You have to pay 5$ to get unlimited protections which for many big servers are almost FREE. This amount of money is really worth it if you want your server to have full protection against VPN users.
Dev, dont worry about the kids who cry for paying 5$ for a gem like this, there is always those people who doesnt want to spend a penny on anything.
