Yeah you can, that was from before the conversion to databases, it's only there in case someone wants to revert or has a problem with the database.
You could delete playerdata.db/the mysql database, or run the sql command:
UPDATE `[database name]` SET `globalChat`=0 WHERE `globalChat`=1
set String firstjoinmessage in the line before, and then set it again, but do the translateAlternateColorCodes on the saved firstjoinmessage...
First, you should use replace instead of replaceAll. replaceAll is for matching regular expressions. Also, your replacing isn't doing anything....
