Some weird readings happening lately with /gc showing outrageous chunk counts. Unsure when this started but wasnt too long ago 667 maybe? Anyways im currently running build 696 and below you will see comparison on 2 of my servers. One of them showing a tone of chunks loaded but arnt really loaded? Make note of the TPS and RAM uses of both screen shots, also both screen shots were taken when there was 30 players on each server. Also like to mention both servers use the same plugins other then server 1 (pve) using plotme and magic carpet which pvp doesnt use. Basically both servers are set up pretty much identical. Server 1, my PVE server where players are randomly all over the world. Server 2, my Prison server where players are mostly within the prison or the city which are very close and 80% of the players share the same chunk loads. 20k chunks loaded? The past few days i have noticed this and ONLY on my PVP server. Also after each restart i can check the server every hour and the chunks continue to increase but the PVE server above will actually fluctuate in chunk count as i assume gc within spigot is working correctly and unloading chunks properly. Everything else looks fine, even the ram and cpu usage for both servers are fine. Only thing out of the ordinary is the PVP servers chunk count which would NEVER get above 2k pre 1.5 even with 80 players online as like i said above 80% of the players are within the prison which is roughly 200x200 block radius and all share the same chunks. Some settings for more info. view distance: 5 for PVP server, 8 for PVE server In theory the PVE server should be showing much higher chunk count the pvp as it runs higher view distance and players on PVE are spread out across the map.
