  1. Hi, I am trying to change the Encoding in my BungeeCord config to a UTF-8 format. When I open up the config.yml folder in Notepad++ I change the Encoding to UTF-8 and when I start the server everything goes fine. But everytime I want to start the BungeeCord server I have to manually change it myself.

Is there anyway I can permanently change it to UTF-8

    Thanks!

Use Notepad++ to convert it once to utf8 without BOM and use Linux. Not sure how windows handles it.

  3. Oh, I am using Windows, every time I start up Bungee, I convert it to UTF-8 just converts it back to ANSI

  4. Most plugins would refer to your system's default encoding while they're reading files.
Thus those files will be forced to have ANSI even if you try to make a change.

Here is what I found to solve encoding issue for windows environment.
    (Apologize for my necro post)

    1. Open your .bat file that launches your server with Notepad++.
    2. Append the following: -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
(This option forces Java to use UTF-8 as default encoding for your server and plugins)

    example: java -Xmx1G -Xms512M -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar server.jar nogui

  5. This is how I'd do it:

    1. Click "encoding"
    2. Click "Convert to UTF-8"
    3. Click "file"
    4. Click "save'
    5. Post the results

Edit: just realized it's an old post. REQUESTING LOCK
