Can color codes be excluded from prefix limit?

  1. Hello, as many know, the prefix and suffix limit in the nametag is 16 characters, that includes the color codes.
I just wanted to know if it is possible to exclude the color codes of that limit, even allowing to put something like this
    "&1c&2o&3l&4o&5r&6m&7a&at&bi&cc&d!&e!&1!&2!&3!"

  2. No. The fields only support 16 bytes of data. Each character is a byte. Each color code needs 2 bytes in order to be a color code.

Only way it would be possible is if you can figure out how to send more than 16 bytes of data in only 16 bytes of data and have the client understand what you did...

  3. i understand, thanks for the reply!

  4. Use scoreboard team prefix and suffix.
Somewhere I read about nearly no limitations for scoreboards with Minecraft 1.13

  5. Not sure about team prefix/suffix, but in 1.13 there is no apparent limit to entity names.

  6. With team prefix and suffix you will have additional 32 bytes (2 x 16 bytes)

  7. What? That's what I originally said, then you said no limits.

  8. No limits in 1.13.

And for scoreboard in 1.12 -> 32 bytes
    Whole 48 bytes.
