Is the mechanism triggered whenever a block of Materials. From is touched by a block of water -- in other words, that Materials. From under water would be converted? Or does the water have to be poured over a target block from a bucket?

Would I be correct in thinking that Materials. From and Materials. To may be arbitrary materials? That would make for some interesting possibilities.

  4. The intention is for it to be whenever they are touched by water, although at the moment it does have to be poured. And yes you would be 100% correct thinking that!

When do you anticipate that the "touched by water" mechanics will be implemented? Would it impact from surface to Y=0 as chucks are loaded? That could be a significant performance issue.

  7. Gravel touched by water on any side will now transform (as of 0.4.0). It won't affect already existing blocks under/near water until there is a block update specifically targeting them.
