Crash Crash when connecting first player 1.6.2

  1. We are running spigot-1.6.2-R0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar on a Raspberry Pi. Yesterday it was working, but laggy when first logging in. Today, when we a player tries to connect (all within our local network), the server stops responding and then eventually crashes.

    Gamer sees: Internal exception: java.netSocketTimeoutException. Read timed out

    It may be that it is simply being overloaded when a player joins. Think of everything the server must do when the very first player joins the server. Load chunks, mob spawning, etc...

    You could try setting your timeout-time (spigot.yml) higher to see if it ever catches back up.
