    Hey everybody.
I'm receiving some errors with EssentialsChat; when I reload essentials the plugin never reloads (just EssenialsChat). I wanted to remove the <> in names; heres my config:

    EssentialsChat Config:
    # Chat formatting can be done in two ways, you can either define a standard format for all chat.
    # Or you can give a group specific chat format, to give some extra variation.
    # For more information of chat formatting, check out the wiki: http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Chat_Formatting

    # format: '{DISPLAYNAME} » &7{MESSAGE}'
    format: '{DISPLAYNAME} &7» &7{MESSAGE}'

    group-formats:
    Default: '{WORLDNAME} {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&r {MESSAGE}'
    Admins: '{WORLDNAME} &c[{GROUP}]&r {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&c {MESSAGE}'

    # If you are using group formats make sure to remove the '#' to allow the setting to be read.

And then, in chat it still has the <> after I reloaded it.
Please help me! Thank you. :)

What versions of Essentials are you using?

  3. As @jflory7 said, what version of the plugin are you using and what version is your server? Would you be able to post a screenshot of the "<>" so that we can see exactly when and where this is occurring? Thanks!

Alright, so my format is working perfect now.
But now the issue is my chat; it won't add the colour I want it.
Any solutions? When I do, /pex user Odi group set Owners
It doesn't add any chat colour, any solutions to this?

  5. For permissions ex, the way to set prefix is /pex group (group name) prefix "(prefix)".

Thanks, but I'm talking about Chat Colour.

  7. If you want to change the chat color, you can do the following:
    Code (Text):
      format: '&e<{DISPLAYNAME}> &6{MESSAGE}'
    &e - Yellow
    &6 - Gold

If you use groupmanager, this may come in handy:
    Code (Text):
      # Chat formatting can be done in two ways, you can either define a standard format for all chat.
      # Or you can give a group specific chat format, to give some extra variation.
      # For more information of chat formatting, check out the wiki: http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Chat_Formatting

      #format: '<{DISPLAYNAME}> {MESSAGE}'
      format: '&7[{GROUP}]&r {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&r {MESSAGE}'

      group-formats:
      #  Default: '{WORLDNAME} {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&r {MESSAGE}'
      #  Admins: '{WORLDNAME} &c[{GROUP}]&r {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&c {MESSAGE}'

      # If you are using group formats make sure to remove the '#' to allow the setting to be read.
Formats with # in front of it means it is disabled.
