Free BungeeCord host

  1. I have seen many people recommend an OVH server for BungeeCord but I have been using another, great solution that's also free.
It's OpenShift by Red Hat. (https://www.openshift.com/) You can make a server with 512MB RAM, and 1 core (gear), perfect for a BungeeCord server.

Follow this tutorial to find out how to install a Minecraft server on OpenShift, replacing the Minecraft server jar with with BungeeCord, of course.

Some of the problems mentioned in the post are not relevant anymore or are not relevant to bungeecord. Don't SSH port forward or set a server IP. I might write a newer guide, later today.

  4. I would rather buy a host that can run BungeeCord, a web server, and a MySQL server. Right now, I have to run all three of those from home on a laptop.

  6. I think he meant the website doesn't work. It doesn't take rocket science to know what that means.

  11. you can have up to 3 gears (1 gear per server), so you could have a Java server, MySQL server, and a web server

  13. openshift is owned by RedHat. Do some reasearch before throwing accusations ;)

It's a PaaS mostly used for web stuff.

  14. it is a good solution if you don't have money. Obviously you will have to compromise with free stuff. I was just trying to help small servers just starting.

This isn't really the best method for Minecraft servers.

Thanks for the link though, as I want to mess around with that.
