I have a Lexar jumpdrive 64G that is seriously confusing me. I use it to hold my workspace for my programming classes, and it seems to have a serious issue with Macs. When I try to do any kind of file reading or writing to it, it is extremely slow on Macs and Macs only, which has me seriously confused. It's formatted to FAT32, which really shouldn't matter. Keep in mind. On Macs finder will reguarly freeze trying to do IO on the drive. What I mean is that it will move 20 or so megs, then stop for a good 30 seconds. IntelliJ IDEA will stop responding every time it needs to do a "file system refresh" on the drive. The worst part? Ubuntu can write a 4G movie to it in under a minute 30. Windows about 3. On Mac? 20 (Today it'd be more than an hour) if I'm lucky. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm beginning to lose my mind with this thing. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I'm currently dropping a 500M file on it and it's been more than 10 min already. 2/3 of the way there. EDIT2: What the heck? It just skipped a hundred meg in about 5 seconds.
