Help with config.yml host

Discussion in 'BungeeCord Discussion' started by Ziimzy, Jun 18, 2013.

  1. Hi guys I have Bungee installed and It generated a config file and this is what I have so far:
    http://pastebin.com/t9HrrUVg
I dont know what to put as host and what to put as the server IP's. I have 5 servers on my node and they all have dedicated ip's so the ports all have to be 25565. These are the servers ip's:
    http://gyazo.com/7431f7517ebbb7b6f1f9e5459de58b20
    all with port 25565.
What do I put as host and what as the server IP's. The main ip of the node is 192.210.199.18
I have tried 0.0.0.0:25565 as the host and then 127.0.0.1 as the IP's but it doesnt work. Im just very confused! Any help is appreciated :) Thanks,

    Ziimzy.

The host IP is the one that hosts bungee and the one you want players to be joining with. You don't want players to be connecting to any other server because the spigot servers have to be set to offline mode (bungee will deal with the authentication)
    Hope this helps somewhat :)

  3. So the host IP cannot be the same as a server IP that is running?

It can be, for example, you want bungee to be running on 192.210.199.18:25565 and your other server running on 192.210.199.128:25575
    Notice the different ports.

Example of running from one server:
    Bungee running on :25565
    Server1 running on :25575
    Server2 running on :25585
    Server3 running on :25595

*edit just read your config.yml a little more, the reason its not working is because you have a conflict on ports, your Bungee server is trying to open 25565 while the server on the same box is also trying to use 25565.

  5. Okay but thats the problem my host gave me 5 servers that have to have the port 25565 And I cant change it. shall I request he changes the ports? So I could have Bungee on 192.210.199.18:25565
    then Server1 on 192.210.199.18:25575
    Server2 on 192.210.199.128:25585
    and so on?

You only need to change the port on the one with Bungee on it as well. From the looks of your config.yml its this one.

    1. testserver:
    2. address: 192.210.199.18:25565
    3. restricted: false
    Change it to:
    1. testserver:
    2. address: 192.210.199.18:25575
    3. restricted: false
Make sure you change the listening port in server.properties

  7. okay so I request he changes that servers port to 25575? (or any other port you know what I mean)

That is correct. Also on the other servers you must make sure that the Bungee server is allowed to connect to port 25565 on the other servers by allowing it though the firewall. Your host should be able to help you with this :)

  9. He doesnt seem to want to help at all :/ but doesnt the BungeeCord page tell me how to do that?

It sure does :), have a read though that and see if it answers your questions. Also if your host is unwilling to help it maybe time to change, no point in having an unhelpful host.

  11. I know but they are DAMN cheap :D

  13. So you have 5 servers each with their own IPs? All are default running on 25565? So that is Bungee with 4 Spigot servers?
