High CPU Usage in latest 1.8.7

Discussion in 'Bugs & Feature Requests' started by Kainzo, Jun 19, 2015.

  1. So, I'm unsure why this is happening, I don't believe its a plugin's fault, I somehow think that spigot is taking more resources than it deserves on a server maxing the cpu out to max.

    Here's information.
[12:03:16 INFO]: This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Spigot-d2856ae-8f0f4ed (MC: 1.8.7) (Implementing API version 1.8.7-R0.1-SNAPSHOT)

CPU Being devoured by this (800% 99% of the time while this latest build is running)

    VisualVM screenshots:

Here's the upload of the snapshot for VisualVM if any devs want to gander)

I would love to solve this riddle!

looks like hoppers according to the timings, but I doubt hoppers would cause that high cpu usage
  3. I've been having similar intermittent and weird behavior where the CPU maxes out randomly on the latest Spigot. I'm beginning to think you are on to something here.

  4. I dont have any problems. Idk why
  5. i am having the same problem
  6. Any updates on this? Still getting this across multiple servers where timings look fine but yet CPU goes maxed out.

get the PID of the server and do jstack <pid> > output.txt (when this occurs)

then pastebin the contents of output.txt here it might help
  8. I wasn't able to get VisualVM to work due to the iptables firewall on my server. I did however get warmroast to function. I'm having a hard time making heads or tails out of the samples though. Do you mind taking a look if any of you has a chance? There's a link to a timings report in there too. These were taken while maxed out CPU with rapidly dropping TPS.

  9. same problems here, happening only in factions server
  10. How often does it happen for you? Never seems to do it when I'm watching htop but I had it 3-4 times yesterday. Restart of server clears it up of course until the next time.

Your timings reports look pretty clean too?

well thats annoying warmroast counts inactive threads as 100%
  12. My timings http://timings.aikar.co/?url=11773078
cpu after like 1-2 times at day start to go from 30% to 100-300% and need to restart, i having this issue from 1.8

  14. yeah is that normal for warmroast? This page seems to suggest yes https://github.com/sk89q/WarmRoast
  15. PhanaticD

well I suppose thats better for other things, not really your particular problem though
  16. Maybe I'll try to get VisualVM going by pulling down iptables firewall temporarily.
  17. Nevermind it still crash regulary, without log or what... this morning server start to lag and crash... but i dont have any crash report, and i have disabled the auto-kill process...
