High ping on join

  1. when a player joins, the first 2 seconds he can go where he wants, then teleports him back, and then he can walk normally.
    Also, a high ping about entering the server, after 5-7 minutes, it becomes real.
    PaperSpigot 1.12.2 (Spigot 1.12.2 too)

  3. if it is localhost it probably isnt ping and more to do with server tps lag

    edit: unless you mean you're hosting the server and you're lettng external players join (not lan) then it's your internet
     
  4. no, its server only for me. tps 20
     
  5. if its only on join, it should not be a big problem.but for me it sounds like a bad computer.
     
  6. Okay, I'll try to put setup on the VPS, but I have a good computer
     
  7. This is a known false-positive, and will not affect gameplay. On join, the client has to do many other things such as load chunks, entities around spawn, etc. Thus, the client will have a delay before being able to send back an response to the server.

    Thus, the ping for the first 10 seconds on the server is usually false: either too large or too small.
