Host for livestreaming

Discussion in 'Hosting Advice' started by Itaquito, Jan 4, 2019.

  1. Hey!

I'm looking for a VPS to make a backup livestream (I wont make those 24/7 music livestreams or a sub count one xD). I only want a way to livestream in another machine just in case if main livestream fails.

Since I use OBS I need a ubuntu desktop or windows (not windows server) operating system.
Anyone knows a host that offers a VPS with Ubuntu desktop? or anyone has experience with this kind of livestreams?

You can do this on any KVM VPS with any provider, since you can mount your own ISO, or you can install a desktop environment on any Ubuntu install.

But, you should get a VPS with more than 1 core, some might not like the CPU usage that comes with transcoding a stream (if it is).
