  1. Hello!

We are currently trying to set-up our Minecraft server to use our domain name but we are having some difficulties. The domain name was purchased with GoDaddy and is being pointed towards Hostinger using their name servers. The website and everything is running fine under the domain.

However, when we try to connect the domain up with the server IP (so we can let users connect using the domain name or a variation of it like play. etc.) it simply isn't working or comes up as some other random server.

Has anyone connected hostinger to their minecraft server before? Any help would be great and I can provide more details if needed :)

  2. It sounds like you created an A record and your Minecraft server is running on a port other than 25565, hence why you join a different server when trying to connect.
You'll need to create an SRV record if you want players to be able to connect with play.yourdomain.com (without adding the port).

Hostinger should be able to help you with setting that up :)
