Is there a script out there that will backup the server every hour to a new file?

  1. I was just wondering if there was a script out there that back's up the server to a new file every hour? I would like to keep backups the way realms makes backups so I can roll back if need be.
  2. What OS are you on? On Windows, you could probably use the task scheduler to run a script every hour. Just have the script backup the region files that have changed since the last time the script ran.
  3. For Linux servers, I would just run rsync as a cronjob every hour. (Plenty of tutorials available if you google it) For restoring the backup, copy & paste works just fine. Make sure that you also write a cronjob for periodically deleting backups as 24 backups per day would fill up your disk space pretty quickly.
