Joining a online Minecraft server?

  1. I am wondering how to code a bot. Mainly out of curiosity. How would you go about logging into a Minecraft server in Java? I could look into using MCP. Thank you for your help. Also please don't say we don't support modders or someone who wants to make a bot program.

  2. In order to create a "bot", you'll need to send correct packets to a minecraft server. You could create them on your own, or use an already existing library.
I'd recommend you start by looking at MCProtocolLib(https://github.com/Steveice10/MCProtocolLib).
Also, with a quick search through the repo, I found this(https://github.com/Steveice10/MCPro...0/mc/protocol/test/MinecraftProtocolTest.java) example class.

  3. What the people above said for simple (eg. chatbots), or much easier; create an MCP or Forge mod that does whatever you want the bot to do, then disable the rendering of the game (to reduce lag).

  4. Thank you this looks interesting.
    Ok.
Kinda defeating on trying to figure out on how to login into a Minecraft server. However, thank you.
