Lag on all 11 of my servers

Discussion in 'Performance Tweaking' started by KevinEssence, Jun 22, 2013.

  1. I have 11 servers, never lagged before, can't see any of the plugins causing this as I removed the plugins such as Buycraft, NoCheatPlus, and Health Bars on every server, as they are the same, and still getting the freezing lag every few seconds. This has never occurred before and is affecting our player base daily. Tried most of the latest spigot builds but staying in #934 currently. TPS seems to drop big time here and there, but I don't see it being the cause of the lag, that which occurs after a fresh restart.

    whats so bad about 19.9tps?

  3. Not blaming the TPS, I'm blaming the random lag spikes every few seconds on each server.

  4. I've noticed with the most recent essentials builds that TPS is not always accurate and will often display between 19 and 20. Use spigot's /TPS, as it is much more accurate.

Furthermore, 19+ TPS is not lag. TPS is a theoretical measurement that is calculated by the server, it may or may not reflect actual latency received by the client. For example, a server could be running at 15 TPS and I might not notice server-based lag on my client.

  5. Post a timings report. We may be able to deduce the cause with that.

  6. This may sound noob, but how does post a timing report :p?

    /timings on
    Wait at least 10 minutes.
    /timings paste
    Give us the link.

  8. Exactly what joehot200 said. Also, don't feel bad about being a "noob." Nobody is born with the knowledge on how to post timings reports, so everyone has to learn somewhere.

  9. Thanks, okay here are the links, not sure if you needed all per server and if you needed both.

Cant see anything, try running them for longer, and make sure they are running when at least 1 lag spike occurs on the server(s).

  11. Okay

  12. Here are longer timings, please let me know if you find anything ;)

  13. This looks like an issue for HG: 1,282.71% Pct Tick
    Skyblock looks alright.
This looks like an issue for Sky: 221.41%
    Main looks alright.

  14. Isn't that HG plugin outdated?

  15. The BukkitGames v1.9.2.1-SNAPSHOT is causing the lag spikes on the HG server

Do you notice the lag when a player joins the game? Because if so you can blame The BukkitGames and Jobs.

  17. The /gc command from essentials takes the average TPS during either 5 seconds or 10 seconds (can't remember).
So if he got a lag spike that brought the TPS down to as low as 10 for a split second and nothing for the remaning seconds, the command will most likely show something like what he is showing. :p

  18. Probably a network issue.

  19. Thank you guys, hopefully I will find the issue, it has never occurred before, but it's the same type of lag on every server, the same exact thing and the weird thing is that they have different plugins. I'm going to keep looking.

  20. It could be your hard drive or network speed limiting you then.
