(Yes, i know i know, someone else just posted this, but thats about VPS/VDS, not colo)
I am looking into getting Colo, for about £50-80/month, 16 GB RAM, lots of CPU, GB port, and if possible, unmetered bandwith.
    I currently found theese:
    http://joesdatacenter.com/kansas-city-colocation-server-hosting-packages
Would they be good? (The $50 package)
Or if not, where else would i go?

How many players do you have right now?

Also which CPU are you looking at?

    Dedicated servers, the £59 one.

My current is £54, 6GB RAM, 10GHZ CPU, 1.6TB bandwith a month. (I need better bandwith, which is why im moving)

And i have about 60 players online, however i think i can easily get over 100, however the lag makes people go away. I would look for about.... 300 slots eventually.

No such thing as 10ghz, and do you even have 50 players on your server?

As i said.... I have about 80 players, however i start lagging at 70, so i basically average at 70, because once i go over 70, it starts to get laggy.

I don't see where it says 10ghz, but I can promise you...its total bullshit. :)
    Edit: Found it. http://www.farbyte.com/servers/uk-vps

Yea they are lying, and scamming the hell out of you.

Get OVH hosting, its probably the most used around here for the prices.
Once you get more money saved up you can upgrade to something like SecuredServers, Limestone Network, Staminus, etc.

    Good luck with hosting. :)

  13. Lawl, with a 3.5GHz Processor I can run with 375-400 players at 20TPS. They're totally bullshitting you, they are most likely saying that you have 4 Cores with 2.5ghz each or whatever all together, which doesn't even matter as minecraft utilizes one core. If you're on linux do " cat /proc/cpuinfo " and look at your model name.

If they say their giving you 10ghz, they just lied.... 3.5 is great. You should really do all your research before you choose a host.

I bought it when i was 11. It was my first ever host. I did not know what was good, nor did i know what to expect.

I'm not critizing that purchase. I'm just saying that you don't exactly seem to know what is good or not, or what you want. Researching for a week could be very beneficial.

Well i was planning to do it with a friend... who is currently in germany.
And he comes back on saturday.
So, meanwhile, i am doing my research.

Make sure to look at benchmarks for single thread usage, as that is what minecraft runs on. Look at benchmarks in general.
