My server won't use the amount of ram I used in the .bat file.

  1. I have 64 bit Java 7 (or 8 I forgot).
I have 12 gigabytes of RAM and was only using 4 ( I think).
I wanted to put 4 gigabytes of RAM on the server.
Since I made the video I changed my .bat file to say -Xmx4G -Xms4G -jar spigot.jar

I have posted this before, but I didn't get answers.
  2. Are you sure that's actually running spigot.jar from your script? That looks like vanilla to me?
  3. I think that is the Spigot one since when I ran it, it created a plugins folder and I have working plugins on the server.
  4. Okay, that sounds right. Your script seems right as well. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can tell you why it's not putting in the full RAM as long as that's the correct script.

It typically only uses what it needs. -Xms is initial heap, but it doesn't immediately use that much RAM. It's normal.
  6. But the server said 94% use of RAM while saying 1024 ram is being used or something like that.
