New Server, High CPU

Discussion in 'Performance Tweaking' started by TheProGeek, Jun 3, 2015.

  1. Well Hello guys!

I recently purchased a KS-4 from Kimsufi and I've developing my server on it since then and I've done all the optimizations I could do and looks like my CPU is fluctuating from 0% to 50%,70% or 99% on idle or while exploring the map. The thing is, there's only a single player, me playing on it. I used to own an E3-1245v2 from SYS last year and I guess I've never noticed it. Anyway, and here are the details :-
    System Specs:
    • CPU: i5 3750S
    • RAM: 16GB
    • Connection: 100 MBps
    • - Single instance of Spigot running.
    PS: Ignore the invalid characters.
Timings: (I just ran it for few seconds. Please tell me if you want it longer.)

So, what do you think I can do to fix this?
Is the a common issue with the processor? Do you think I can handle around 70-100 players? (I'll be renting a .org place once my work is done.)

You are most likely generating chunks. I suggest using WorldBorder to generate a radius of chunks so you won't need to generate them once you launch the server.
  3. This happens always. Not just while generating chunks. Also, I've tested the server with a vanilla server and looks like it does the same. So, I assume its something up with my server?
Also, how do I pre-generate the whole world with WG?

    EDIT: Added Plugins

Okay, so it's more consistent. What are your startup flags?
  5. java -Xms256M -Xmx8G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -jar spigot.jar
  6. Bumping this. Perhaps no one have an answer?
