Solved New to Spigot - Enemies spawning seemingly in defiance of light levels

  1. Hey guys, I just moved my server over to Spigot from Vanilla, and so far I've just noticed one big change/issue

Enemy mobs are spawning in areas that were previously "safe" due to the amount of torches placed. It seems that there was some change to how the light levels are calculated?

What settings would I need to change to get this back to the Vanilla default?
  2. Someone correct me please if Im wrong!

To my understanding, spigot does not change how mobs spawn in/around light levels.
Spigot is still technically vanilla minecraft. It simply adds more systems and settings to allow server owners more control over various systems behind the scenes.

Yeah Spigot doesn't touch light levels

  4. I actually did manage to fix this - I needed to add the entry for "random-light-updates" in the config and set it to "True"
