Not Listening on 0.0.0.0:25565

Discussion in 'BungeeCord Help' started by MattK, May 31, 2016.

  1. Hey, so I was setting up a bungeecord server but it doesn't seem to be working. When I press start.bat in the bungeecord folder, it never says 'listening on 0.0.0.0:25565, like all of the videos say. Mine is a long list of other items.
    this is what it says:
    it also says: cannot bind to 0.0.0.0:25565
    thanks for the help!

    Something is already running on port 25565 on an interface somewhere. All servers need to be on different network ports from one another.

    • Agree Agree x 2
  3. BungeeCord act as a proxy to move players to each minecraft server you have. BungeeCord should be running on port 25565, as it is the default port for minecraft clients, and thus they won't have to write it down. However, every other minecraft server need to let this port free, so bungee cord can take it. You need to move the minecraft server that is listening on 25565 to something else.

  4. what do you mean another interface? I only have one monitor, and I am pretty sure nothing else it.

    interface is a networking term, e.g. if you attempt to bind on 0.0.0.0, You attempt to bind on every IP address on that port;
    So, 127.0.0.1 is an interface which will be the loopback network, and 192.168.1.<whatever> will be on another interface. Make sure that all servers are on different port numbers and try again, if that doesn't work try rebooting, Sometimes Java fails to close properly.

  6. tried and doesn't work. when I try to join it comes up with: Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException

  7. Try to restart your pc/router.

  8. What IP are you using to join your MC server with?

  9. just direct server connect: localhost

    should I be trying to join with something else?

  10. Thus the port 25565 is used you already have certainly a waiter minecraft to start
