Performance Snapshots with VisualVM.

Discussion in 'Performance Tweaking' started by Kainzo, Dec 7, 2012.

  1. I wanted to post here so I can archive the performance snapshots I'm seeing with various players online. If you want to manage your own snapshots, use VisualVM through JMX and go to CPU polling. Once you are polling wait a few minutes and then click "Snapshot" save this snapshot and upload it to a hosting site.

this is interesting, will look into it XD
  3. I am sorry, but I am not seeing how to load other snapshots, only ones I have taken personally. Can you let me know what/where I am missing this? haha

When you click file -> open you might need to select ".nps" from the file extension menu.

Soooo.... I decided to pull up your snapshot and take a look. I expected to see ave cpu usage, mem usage, gc, ect..
what I got was by thread, by class, by method, break down. While this info is interesting its not really what I was looking for. Am I missing something here?
