Crash PEX Sql Error

Discussion in 'Bugs & Feature Requests' started by ventor, Jun 29, 2015.

  1. Your PEX config file is setup to use a SQL server to store the permissions but you seem to want to use permissions file instead.

Change your config file to the following:

    Code (Text):
    multiserver:
      use-netevents: true
    permissions:
      debug: false
      allowOps: false
      user-add-groups-last: false
      log-players: false
      createUserRecords: false
      informplayers:
        changes: false
      backend: file
      backends:
        file:
          file: permissions.yml
        sql:
          driver: mysql
          uri: mysql://localhost/minecraft
          user: sql
          password: ******
      basedir: plugins/PermissionsEx
    updater: true
    alwaysUpdate: false

  2. let me explain the problem. i need to have ranks cross servers with diferent permissions in each one. i have pex working on files for each server but i need to make a sql db in order to work.

so u are saying i need to run in file mode
run the pex import file command
then turn back to sql mode?

idk if im beeing clear but thats what i think u say.

    tnks for the answer

  3. in that case you need to create a sql database in mysql first (call it something like pexperms)

then change your pex config file to the following:

    Code (Text):
    multiserver:
      use-netevents: true
    permissions:
      debug: false
      allowOps: false
      user-add-groups-last: false
      log-players: false
      createUserRecords: false
      informplayers:
        changes: false
      backend: sql
      backends:
        file:
          file: permissions.yml
        sql:
          driver: mysql
          uri: mysql://localhost/pexperms
          user: sql
          password: ******
      basedir: plugins/PermissionsEx
    updater: true
    alwaysUpdate: false
Change the user and password values to the correct ones for your mysql server.
if your mysql server isn't running on the same machine as your minecraft server, then also change the uri value, replacing localhost with the ip address of your mysql server.

  4. im already running a sql database called minecraft with a user called sql on local
