Placing on powered block bypasses BlockPlaceEvent

Is there any way to get this functionality back? Basically when I place a block on a powered block and it activates said block (TNT) it completely bypasses the BlockPlaceEvent. I'm sure it would be fine if it wasn't a block that changes into an entity but little perplexed on how to get this functionality back.

  2. Maybe you can try a PlayerInteractEvent?

  3. Cancel the prime event if there's a red stone current below it?Then it should stay a block
