Player Authenticating

  1. Hi all, I just wanted to introduce you to my Authentication Tool.

When a player registers on your website, you can ask them to enter their Minecraft Name, but they could enter any name into that box. With this api, you can confirm that the player is who they say they are.

Your website will ask them to enter a 12 digit code. The player will get this code by logging into Minecraft and joining mc.redstonetor.ch:1337. They will be provided with the code which they need to enter on to your website. When they submit the form, your form calls the api at http://auth.redstonetor.ch/api.php?n=[PLAYER NAME] and checks to see if the key matches. The api returns JSON formatted data. If the key matches, the player is logged into the account they are trying to use.

Hope people find this useful. The website is a bit rubbish at the moment, but you can check it out here, it has instructions on how to use it: http://auth.redstonetor.ch/
