SpigotMC Pty. Ltd. ("SpigotMC", "we", "us", "our") allows developers who meet certain requirements to upload "premium resources" which may be purchased by all users for an amount set by the author. It is not our intention to create a marketplace, or have developers whose only involvement in the community is within this section; but rather to incentivize and reward developers for creating and maintaining plugins of good quality. This post should be read in full by both buyers and authors alike before participating in the section in any way. The Ground Rules The payment facilities on this website are provided for your convenience only. At no point in time does SpigotMC participate in the transfer or receiving of funds. This means that all relationships exist entirely between the buyer, seller, and potentially payment processor (PayPal). We are not an agent for any party. As a result of this it is not our duty to ensure any level of access to any resources. If you find yourself unable to access our site (for example as a result of being banned), then it is up to the author to provide you with access elsewhere. All payment disputes must be handled through the payment processor. We encourage all resource developers to provide a reasonable level of support and updates to their buyers. This being said, there should be no expectation when purchasing a resource that the resource will be updated or maintained beyond what is currently provided. Old and unmaintained resource are regularly pruned (see details below), so it is important to save copies of any resources you purchase. We do not guarantee that they will be available in the future. If a dispute is opened against a resource, the buyer will lose access to the resource automatically regardless of resolution decided by the payment processor. SpigotMC will not investigate disputes except in repeated cases, or cases where the reason is "Unauthorized Transaction". Paying by e-cheque is also allowed (if enabled by the seller on their PayPal account), however any transactions which bounce will be treated the same as a dispute. It is a violation of the forum rules to republish or distribute any resources which you have purchased. This means that you should only give those whom you completely trust access to a server with premium resources installed; lest you be held responsible for their actions. Additionally it is not possible to transfer resources between accounts, so if you feel you may be in a situation where a shared "server" account is required, you should use it from day one (and only for this purpose in line with other forum rules). Finally just to be clear once again (as per our full Terms of Service which govern this entire website): We, the providers of the service provided by this web site ("Service") are not responsible for any user-generated content and accounts ("Content"). Content submitted express the views of their author only. We reserve the right to take action against any account with the Service at any time. These terms may be changed at any time without notice. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not register or use this Service. If you are merely interested in using these resources, you can stop reading now. Section Requirements We regularly change the requirements for authors to participate in this section to help moderate supply and demand. As it stands the current requirements are: 8 week old account 80 messages (forum posts) + 20 positive ratings 3 free resources Two-step verification enabled Save your backup codes (print them out)! We will not reset accounts who have lost their backup codes. In the five years which we have run this section for, not once has a user failed to be promoted within one hour of meeting these requirements. Do not contact us about being unable to use this service. Resource Rules Like most of the forum rules, these rules are subject to change at any time in order to best suit the current environment. Grandfathering of old rules is entirely subject to our own discretion. Intellectual Property You must be the original author and copyright holder of the work which you are submitting. This means that you must have a license to use all aspects of the submitted works. As per the Terms of Service: You are granting us with a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your Content in connection with the Service. You retain copyright over the Content. You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws. We reserve the rights to remove or modify any Content submitted for any reason without explanation. Content Removal We will do our best to remove resources when a copyright complaint is received and we believe an infringement has taken place. If we do not believe an infringement has taken place, we will remove resources only when receiving a formal notice meeting the legal requirements of your jurisdiction (DMCA or otherwise). In submitting such a notice you agree to us publishing it in its entirety. Resource Approval Resources in this section are subject to approval to ensure that they meet some basic requirements. Approval for publishing does not mean that we endorse the content of any resources in any manner. Please note that approval time is routinely in the order of one week. Please do not contact us regarding ETAs. "Low Effort" resources may be rejected. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer, however "Low Effort" resources include those: With less than 10kb of code. Contain beginner programming mistakes. Are similar to those produced by tutorials or examples. If your resource is "Low Effort" you are encouraged to submit it as a free resource, or improve it substantially. You may appeal this decision by emailing [email protected] "Common" resources may be rejected. A "Common" resource is one of a genre for which plenty of alternatives exist and which does not have any unique functionality and innovation. "Common" resources from the list below will not be approved unless they have substantial unique functionality and an overall high quality Crate Key Plugins Kit (PvP) Plugins Particle Plugins "Hub Gadgets" or similar lobby-centric perks plugins. UHC Plugins Skywars Plugins Kit, backpack, portable inventory, and similar plugins. Resources containing the following themes will be rejected. Gambling Drugs Resources must support the latest stable version of Spigot Resources must not use NMS unnecessarily. Resource descriptions should be of good quality. This means a description sufficient to detail their complete functionality, installation, and usage. Pictures and/or videos are highly desirable. Descriptions should not contain substantive text in images. This should be in English. If the in-game text is not English then this should be clearly noted. Obfuscation / DRM You are allowed to obfuscate your resources, however the decompiled code must be somewhat legible by staff. We may request you use a different obfuscator or none at all. In addition to free obfuscators you may also use custom or paid obfuscators (ie Stringer, ZKM etc) in premium resources, with the following caveats: You must still follow rule 4.1.6 found in the Spigot Forum Rules. You must state the name of the obfuscator used and gain approval following the rules outlined in https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/420746/. DRM systems are (provisionally allowed), with the following key caveats: All resources must run directly from downloaded file without any manual installation steps or access to a specific server. This means that licensing systems of any form are prohibited. This also means that all applicable code must fail-safe in the event of (web) server error. They must not interfere with any aspect of the server outside of the plugin itself. We will treat all complaints of DRM abuse with the highest severity, which may result in immediate and permanent suspension of your resource unless sufficient evidence is provided. We may request it be removed or altered at any time. Resources must be plugins. This means that resources where the main functionality is non-plugin based, ie: "web" resources will be rejected. Resources must not depend on other premium resources. Pricing It is up to you to pick appropriate resource pricing for your resource. Resources with higher prices will be scrutinized more than those with lower prices. The following limits apply (USD or foreign currency equivalent) Minimum Price: $0.99 Maximum Price: $19.99 You may find it helpful to read the following thread: https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/explaining-on-what-are-premium-plugin-prices-based.37997/ Activity Resources with no updates in 6 months may be deemed inactive. Inactive resources can be reclaimed by the original author by using the report button, and then releasing an update. Resources which have been inactive for 3 months may be deleted. Thanks, and we hope you enjoy using this service.
