Programming Challenge of the Week!

Discussion in 'Programming' started by BlizzardFyre, Jul 14, 2015.

  1. Hello World!

This is the hub for my weekly Programming Challenges. For those of you who have participated in the past, the challenges will work very differently now.

These challenges are all going to be CODE-GOLF. You can read all about it online, but essentially it is making your code have the least amount of bytes possible.

I will close the previous challenge every Friday, and open a new one at the same time.

All challenges must be written in Java. Most challenges will be independent of Bukkit, except for a few that will be specified.

If you want to post a solution in a language other than Java, feel free! Just remember it won't be counted for a win.

    Rules:
    1. It is assumed that java.util.*, java.lang.*, and java.io.* are all already imported. They are NOT statically imported however.
    2. If you do not place the length of your submission, it won't be counted.
    3. Do not insult other people's submissions. If you have suggestions, feel free to submit them.
    4. If you repost someone else's code with a small edit, you will be given the win and they will get an honorable mention.
    5. You may name variables and method names however you wish.
    6. When asked to write a function, you are to assume that there is nothing at all modified in the enclosing class. Meaning, no extensions, no static imports, no implements, no state variables.
    7. If you make an edit to your code, you MUST make a new reply. Edits with a changed answer will not be counted as a submission, unless you post a reply pointing to the edited response.

  3. Not sure if you want discussion on this threa (if you don't, I will ask a moderator to delete this). Just a suggestion: instead of smallest code, how about the FASTEST (as in most performant/quickest execution) code?

  4. @xTrollxDudex I am going to be doing a rework of the programming challenge to make it be a better concept, not to worry.
