Solved PWNFilter Error in Rules

Discussion in 'Spigot Plugin Help' started by Captain_Obvious, Jun 5, 2016.

  1. This is wrong. See posts below.

The plugin must be treating your replacement string **** as a regular expression. * means that the previous character can be repeated 0 or more times, but there is no previous character, hence the error. I see their sample rules use ***. Maybe they've made changes that don't allow this anymore.

Easiest thing to do would be to change it to something like xxxx.

If you want to experiment further, you could try any of the following:
    "****"
    \****
    \\****
    \*\*\*\*
    \\*\\*\\*\\*

I'm not sure why the plugin would be treating these as regular expressions, so I'm not sure what to do to fix the error. Let us know what you end up with.[\s]

  2. I tried out a different method. Instead of doing each individual, I grouped the like this "match help|well|pool" and then replaced with the stars. It was fixed. I guess the plugin doesn't like individual things. For the ones that didn't have the same letter count, I did random letters next to it so that it will be grouped.

    Thanks for your help!

  3. Double check your rules. I see you have match **** and in some places you forgot the then in then replace.
