Hey, Out of curiosity i just ran a netstat -nptwac (in- and outgoing connections) on a server with no players on it (its behind NAT at my lan, so i'm sure nobody can connect). I found this: http://pastebin.com/RfWKj2j7 Namely, there is a about every couple minutes a connection from the server (process: java) to 192.95.20.205. What is this? Plugin Metrics is opped-out. These only appear when spigot is running. This also happens when using Cauldron (cauldron-1.7.10-1.1207.01.198-server.jar) on another server. No Plugins, no Mods. I'm scared. What is Spigot connecting to?
Two things, 1. you probably shouldn't put your ips here and 2. Im pretty sure that it is just connecting into your router, either that or your running multiple servers
Spigot has its own metrics tracking, and that is the IP for mcstats.org $ ping mcstats.org PING mcstats.org (192.95.20.205) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 192.95.20.205: icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=0.186 ms
Thanks Absentee23! Thats good to know ! @joben: There were only private IPs shown (10.0.0.0/8), so no need to be careful
