Request without port?

  1. is it possible to make a offside website that send a request to a plugin that then instert data to a mysql without a extra port dedicated?

  2. No, because the only port that you can assume open is port 25565, which is being used by the server. You have to listen to a port or you will not be able to receive any information. That port also cannot be in use by another process.

Side note: It seems a bit insecure that you are able to send requests directly to the server

  3. A website sending requests to a plugin? Shouldn't it be the exact opposite...?

Why would you possibly want to do this? This would be fairly risky on a security perspective too...

  4. As previous comments have stated it is a potentially dangerouse practice if not implemented properly.
To answer your question yes, to listen for input from a website you are going to have to use a port other than the one your server is using, since your server is using it.
