Spigot Sentinel 2.3.5

Combat NPCs for Spigot!

  1. I made a Crackshot weapon that has the explosion potion effect. It works well when I am shooting to other players. But it is not working with the Sentinel. It can not cause an explosion potion effect when the Sentinel shot to the players. Sorry for my English is not very good.
  2. Sentinel only has integration for the official release of Factions. Some Factions alternatives are actually unsupportable entirely (like FactionsUUID) due to them using conflicting plugin names & classpaths. They'd have to fix those issues before Sentinel would be able to support them. Factions alternatives that use properly distinct names&classpaths are open to be supported if you post a Sentinel issue @ https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/Sentinel/issues

BTW, re minehut, refer to: https://wiki.citizensnpcs.co/Freque...s.2C_Minehut.2C_....29_but_there.27s_problems

The Sentinel crackshot integration just kinda pretends the NPC is a player and tells crackshot that the "player" is clicking. If specific things don't work, there isn't much I can do about it. You might be interested in trying QualityArmory, which is an alternative to CrackShot (I think it's a fork of CrackShot actually) that has their own proper Sentinel integration and would probably be better able to avoid problems like that.

  3. Thanks a lot, mcmonkey. I have very little idea about distinct names and classpaths, so I would probably be suggesting blindly.

Appreciate the speedy reply and your work! :)
  4. Just to clarify, you added full support from versions 1.8 to 1.15?
  5. 1.15.2 is fully supported. 1.14.4, 1.13.2, 1.12.2 are mostly supported (might have some version inconsistencies but should work), 1.8.8 is minimum as-is supported - meaning it's technically compatible but it works however well it does or doesn't and I can't help much with issues related to 1.8. Refer also to the general Citizens policy on 1.8 https://wiki.citizensnpcs.co/Minecraft_1.8
(1.9/1.10/1.11 aren't officially supported at all by Citizens or related plugins due to having <1% serverbase).

Generally, all servers are strongly advised to update to 1.15.2 as soon as reasonably possible (according to bStats, almost 60% of servers globally are now updated to 1.15.2!)

  8. I also got this error and had to revert back citizens to build 2094. On 1.16.1. we are.
  9. found this chat on their discord.
The newest builds are for 1.16.2, if you want 1.16.1 builds, just download ones from before today (and maybe yesterday?)

  10. that's not a Sentinel error, that's... Citizens didn't load, and the reason for that is somewhere earlier in the logs. Probably as mentioned the 1.16.1 vs 1.16.2 thing.
From the support Discord's news channel:
    - Citizens builds starting at 2095+ now support 1.16.2 and do NOT support 1.16.1 anymore. If you need 1.16.1 support, use https://ci.citizensnpcs.co/job/Citizens2/2094/, but please update to 1.16.2 as soon as you are able.

  11. Is there a way to disallow player targets?
  12. As was said on Discord: don't give players direct access to Sentinel commands, if you want non-admin control of NPCs, make your own control scripts.
  13. oh yes i will

  15. Hey! Is it possibly to make sentinel take less knockback i made server with islands and NPC'S on them for players to fight in and they can easily just spam click them and push them off, im using (Sentinel and NPC's)
  16. That might be good to post as a feature request @ https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/Sentinel/issues
  17. where is the normal WIKI for the plugin, with a normal, or at least some description of the commands? I don't want to use DISCORD. And the WIKI doesn't explain anything at all! How do I make an NPC spawn immediately after death at a CERTAIN point? How do I make sure that the NPC does not catch up with the enemy more than 100 blocks from its PATH route and returns to the original patrol line? The plugin is so old, but the WIKI IS still empty.

  19. I don't know what "WIKI!!!!" you're yelling so loudly about, there isn't a wiki, but there is a readme: https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/Sentinel/blob/master/README.md which has a full list of commands with arguments and descriptions, and tons of example setups, and more.

edit: ooh, page break made me miss there was a reply already.
^ Discord is basically THE platform for discussion & and information for, well, gaming in general. A fair portion of webforums in the world have died as a fundamental result of Discord providing so much better of a platform than anything before. Refusing to join Discord is like refusing to own a smart phone... you technically can do it, but you're abandoning a rather key basic connection to the modern world, and any/all problems you encounter as a result of refusing something so basic are your own choice and burden to deal with.

Discord is yet another platform that favors noise over substance. The signal-to-noise ratio is extraordinarily low, compared with the rather high signal-to-noise ratio in these forums. And any content of interest quickly disappears in the blizzard of noise. I respectfully decline.
