I am being DDOSd, max of 6mb/sec. More than my server can withstand.
What should i do about it? How can i get protection? Is there any freeware that can stop attacks of this small magnitude?

Also, what about @jeff142's idea? That might work, but then, what host would i use?

Thanks in advance for anyone who knows anything.

You should probably switch hosts if your server cannot handle 6Mbps.

That's nothing, I get 25Mbps upload at my house... Are you sure you don't mean Gbps?

I have no idea, i mean, the server should be able to cope with it, but it dosent seem to be able to, which is strange.

  6. How are you sure that that's actually a ddos problem?

    Normal incoming traffic.
    200mb/sec at most.

I suddenly keep getting massive things 2mb to 10mb at the SAME INTERVALS.

  8. Do you have some graphs to show that to us(or somethink like that)?

Can you provide network logs to prove it is an actual DDOS attack?

Link does not work for me, just get a screenshot of the "nload" in your SSH.

  16. I can't find the network speed on your hoster site :\ It's really odd that a hoster doesn't report the network speed

Your host is ridiculous, leave them now, if 10Mbps incoming causes you problems you're being ripped off.

  19. I Absolutely Agree. My server always has 40mb/s of traffic. If someone can put down your server with a 10mb DoS, then there's a problem with your hoster.

I dont want to leave them just yet.
But.. i agree, i am starting to get more and more unhappy about my host :/
