Should I change to VPS?

  1. Hey,

My friend recently recommended I use VPS to host my server. I'm not too familiar with VPS, and am unsure whether it would be the best option for my server, bearing in mind I have only just finished setting it up and have not established much of a community. I'm using BungeeCord with four Spigot servers - them being a lobby, Creative server, Survival server and Skyblock server. Would VPS be suitable for a server just starting out? If so, any recommended hosts?

    Thanks,

    BirminghamBoy.

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend running any sizable network on a VPS. VPS are going to have many more resource restrictions than the common Minecraft host using Multicraft. Unless you get on a VPS host that gives multiple cores and isn't letting people run those cores 24/7 at 100%. If you want root access to do other things then always.

I would try to look for hosters which offer VPS with dedicated resources. I personally used netcup's 'root' servers for years and its been a great experience
