What kind of OC are you getting out of that? I'm assuming it's OC'd as you got a k...? I have an older i7-7700k I have at 5.1ghz on water. Thinking of buying a newer gen unlocked CPU to see if I can get 6. Haven't really looked into it yet.

No idea lol. I'm not really into OC'ing and pushing my PC. Running it at 3.6GHz is more than enough. Just needed something that would reliably and consistently handle about anything - it for sure is overkill ;)

Ahh. In that case, you likely paid about fifty bucks more than you needed, but in the long run it's a wiser purchase anyway. ~$50 is a middling amount and worth it if you decide later to change your mind and wring some more cycles out of it :)

I had the pc built and that was the only option - would have gone with the k anyway. I might want to meddle with it at some point so having the option is nice instead of having to switch it which would be a hassle and more than 50 bucks probably.

Naturally, the only thing you can do with this sort of build, is buy access to the continuum shaders and stratum resource pack.
