As with any software in public development there are a lot of different builds of Spigot lying around, most of which have bugs of one sort or another. Like most software bugs are fixed over time, but unlike most software Spigot has no build labeling, there is no way for anyone coming here to download Spigot to tell if what they are getting is an unstable dev build for which error reporting is a fact of life or more stable beta or even recommended build. Right now people who complain about problems in Spigot builds are told that they are running Spigot builds based off of bukkit dev builds and as such have no right to complain. But without any build markings how is anyone supposed to tell which one of the hundreds of builds they should be using if they want to mitigate their risk of catastrophic bugs? Even if Spigot only adopts the label of the bukkit build its sourced from it would be a huge improvement for usability.
