Solved Spigot Server maintaining

Discussion in 'Spigot Help' started by Dynamo2205, Jul 17, 2021.

  1. Greetings everyone,

I hope this is the right Forum, to ask this question.

I am started developing my own plugins around two months ago, then I stopped working for some time.
Now I want to start again, but my server was outdated. I of couse downloaded a new Version of build tools and got a fresh version of my Spigot server.

Now to my question: How do I proceed? Can I just replace the old Spigot Server version with the freshly compiled one? Do I have to setup a new server and port my data? Do I always have to get a new version of Build tools or can I just use the old one to compile a new Version? What is the applyPatches.sh in the Spigot and Craftbukkit Folders for? Can they help me solve my third question?

Thanks to anyone, who tries to help me.

  2. You can only build the latest spigots using the latest version of BuildTools.

  3. Yes (well, at least after shutting down the old one). The new spigot server will just use the configs and data from your old server, and it will perform necessary migrations too.
