Spigot won't run, even after instructions followed.

  1. First off - yeah, I get it. I'm new to this area and you don't need to comment on that. I'm asking for help, not for you to mumble about how I suck.

I recently forwarded the Minecraft port and downloaded the Spigot.jar to start from scratch.
Once placing the Spigot.jar in a folder, I ran it (with nothing happening from there besides the logs, eula and server properties files appearing).

After accepting eula and so on, I created the start.bat consisting of

    SET BINDIR=%~dp0
    CD /D "%BINDIR%"
    "D:Javabinjava.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar spigot.jar

I ran the batch and received:

Whether this is necessarily a client-side error or not, I'm not entirely sure how to progress it.
  2. 1) create a text file in the dir the spigot.jar is
    2) put in
    Code (Text):
    @echo off

    java -Xmx1024M -jar spigot.jar

    3) rename the file to start.bat (without .txt at the end - make sure your explorer shows all file endings!)
    4) double-click the file
  3. Thanks for trying to help, but essentially that did the same thing that I described in my first post:
  4. then type in that window the line starting with java.
  5. Can I ask what version of java you have installed / windows version?
  6. Same effect
  7. Yep,
    java version 1.8.0_45

    Obviously windows 7.
  9. try this:

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar spigot.jar
    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar spigot.jar
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar spigot.jar
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar spigot.jar
  10. Make sure you are in the correct directory before running the server, Also try java -Xmx(what ever) -Xms(what ever) -jar spigot.jar
  11. I gave four possible lines for windows , one of them must run server)

Bad advice. Don't use -Xms with java 8.

  13. I just changed what he said because he was doing something strange.
  14. Alright, so after running
    Code (Text):
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit_server.jar
in the start batch, I received this-

I have forwarded the port correctly and tested that it's up.

  15. That says there is already a server using that port. Check your task manager and kill all java.exe or restart your pc
  16. it's mean, what you must input property IP in - server.properties
  17. execute ipconfig to see the ip address
  18. Thanks, you've helped me out a ton -
Atm, though, I have a different problem.
When I attempt to allocate more ram by ways of using
    Code (Text):
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1600M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit_server.jar
    , I apparently don't have enough space
  19. Looks like you do not have enough free ram left. You can check with task manager. Close some things you do not need, if there are any.
  20. Why not...
