Thoughts on GitHub Co-Pilot

  1. It looks insane and I'm personally looking forward to it. I'm not currently using VSCode very often at the moment, but when I do I have been using Tab9. Tab9 is awesome but this looks like it's on a completely different level.

    The only thing slightly concerning thing that I've seen from watching showcases is that the code that it autocompletes typically uses older methods to solve a problem. You can especially see that it in the JS showcases in particular. It's like it's scared of ES6 or something. But, I'm sure it will evolve into it eventually maybe.

    What are your thoughts?

  2. I don't really like some AI writing the code for me, although that's just my opinion but when I code I like to do things myself to gain experience from them even if it impacts my productivity, I like finding the answer myself and not having some robot directly tell me;
