[URGENT] Compiling spigot on my pc

Discussion in 'Spigot Discussion' started by rsod, Aug 4, 2013.

  1. Hello, for the love of Godness, can someone tell me how can I make changes in spigot source, then compile it and as result get working spigot.jar file with all changes that I made? I'm using eclipse. Thanks.

  3. I don't see anything! Can I just have a link to tutorial? I want only edit some files, compile and then just run compiled file.

  4. I'm still not understanding Dmck2b
All what I want is just edit few class files (say Entity.class). How do I do that?

  5. Anyone, please?

Um. Compile it like you would compile a plugin. Except its spigot, and not a plugin.
Not sure what is so hard here.

  7. I can't understand how do I get source files to eclipse, joehot200

You mean how to modify the code in the first place?

Unless it is already done for you, you would have to decompile spigot and then copy&paste all the code. I see no other way :/

  9. joehot200 I have imported Spigot repository to eclipse. I performed changes in code. Now I want to compile it and have modified spigot as result. What do I do?

  10. As I see the point of open-source software is that everyone can clone code, perform changes in code and compile. As I have it right now, it's nearly impossible.

  11. clone spigot
    apply patches
source code now lives in Spigot-API and Spigot-Server

import those into IntelliJ (Get rid of eclipse)

then inside SPIGOT repo run mvn clean install so it does API + Server
