WD goes m.2 SSD

    It's moderately slower than Samsungs 950 Pro but still over 2K read and 800 write. The 950 is 2500/1500 read and write.

    I've benched my 950 at 2500/2300 as long as it stays cool. Once it heats up it drops to 2500/1500. I added heat sinks to the chips and removed the thermal paper. This helps it maintain the 2500/2300 consistently.
    I'm sure the same could be done for the WD. I don't own one, so I can't comment on the speeds it would produce.

    The price is $100 to $150 less than the 950.

    I remember my 950's cost in excess of $400 each.

  2. I dont wanna ruin this post but this is old news ive seen the western digital black m.2s atleast for 2 months already

    I first read about them in January but they did not release them until around March.
    This post was just to make people aware of an alternative, not who saw what first or how old or new the news is.
    If you don't want to ruin a post and don't have anything meaningful to add. Simply don't post, it's like a child saying mines better than yours because I got mine first.
